Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Senior Public Service Administrator - Option 6 (Associate Deputy Director, Dually Involved Youth and Human Trafficking Prevention). Essential Functions
- Serves as Associate Deputy Director of Dually Involved Youth and Human Trafficking Prevention.
- Provides the Deputy Director and the Director with major administrative input into agency programs and operations which are of high importance within the community and child welfare constituencies.
- Reviews, oversees, and coordinates the overall implementation of various Departmental pilot programs within the oversight of Clinical and Child Services.
- Provides advice and consultation in the development of Department curriculum related to transition to adulthood, human trafficking, and dually involved youth.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Develops and strengthens relationships between DCFS and law enforcement agencies, probation offices, the public guardian, the courts, and all other related public agencies.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an MSW or a master's degree in a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
- Requires four years of administrative child welfare experience with an MSW or five years of administrative child welfare
experience with a master's degree in a related human services field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience managing or working in children and youth services in a public or private organization.
- Three years of professional experience conducting or managing a social service program in a public or business organization.
- Three years of experience in the supervision of professional staff in a public or business organization.
- Three years of professional experience in the development of management reporting systems.
- Three years of professional experience in the development of policies and procedures.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid
driver's license. - Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the
employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately
after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office
of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine. - This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring
